Basketball Recap: Portsmouth Trojans vs. Fairland Dragons
After a string of six wins, the Portsmouth Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. The contest between them and Fairland wasn't particularly close, with Portsmouth falling 68-51. Portsmouth was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Fairland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kylee Bruce, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Bree Allen, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Portsmouth's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3. As for Fairland, their win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-1.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Boyd County the next time they take the court. Portsmouth will head out to face the Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Dragons will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
