Basketball Recap: Woonsocket Comes Up Short

Woonsocket was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 62-43 bruising from the Cumberland Clippers. The Villa Novans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Clippers from their previous meeting back in January.

Loss or not, Woonsocket got some senior leadership from Demetri Brin and Isaiah Guertin. Brin posted six points and seven rebounds, while Guertin earned nine points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Brin a new career-high in assists (three).

Woonsocket's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Cumberland, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Woonsocket will head out to take on Cranston West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cumberland, they will welcome North Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. North Providence will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Cumberland surely won't give up without a fight.
