Volleyball Recap: Incarnate Word Comes Up Short

Incarnate Word was the 3-2 winner over Alexander when they last played one another back in September of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Shamrocks fell 2-0 to the Bulldogs on Friday. The Shamrocks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-10.

Kenady Murray paced Incarnate Word's offense, picking up five kills. Murray got some help from Lorena Gomez and her nine assists.

Alexander's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brianna Espinoza led the charge by getting 11 digs and one assist.

Incarnate Word now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Alexander, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Incarnate Word has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against SA Roosevelt on the 15th. As for Alexander, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Davenport on the 15th.
