Volleyball Recap: Sheridan Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sheridan can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Benton Central Bison on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Blackhawks have suffered since September 30th.

Lainey Mendenhall paced Sheridan's offense, picking up five kills. Mendenhall got some help from Adria Jump and her 13 assists.

The loss snapped Sheridan's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 19-11 record. As for Benton Central, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-5.

Sheridan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benton Central, after both having extra time off, they and Southwood will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
