Baseball Game Preview: Lakeland Thunderbirds vs. Medford Raiders

For the second straight game, Lakeland will face off against Medford. The Thunderbirds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Lakeland will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Medford, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Thunderbirds came out on top in a nail-biter against the Raiders on Monday, sneaking past 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Thunderbirds have posted since April 11th.

For Medford's part, Charles Gierl was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was Gierl's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Wilkins, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

Lakeland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for Medford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
