Baseball Recap: Syracuse Titans vs. Fremont Silverwolves

Syracuse was the 5-2 winner over Fremont when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Syracuse Titans lost 17-6 to the Fremont Silverwolves on Wednesday.

Austin Burton was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with a home run. Tag Hamblin was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Even though they lost, Syracuse hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fremont struck out five times.

On Fremont's side, they got a great performance from Brant Koford as he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Anthony Marziale was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with a home run, five RBI, and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Karston Jamison, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances.

Syracuse now has a losing record at 9-10-2. As for Fremont, their victory bumped their record up to 14-7.

While Syracuse had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
