Football Recap: Marterius Boyd's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lausanne Collegiate over Westview

While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Lausanne Collegiate was not quite Westview's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 37-34. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lynx have suffered since October 18, 2024.

Lausanne Collegiate's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marterius Boyd, who rushed for 74 yards and one score on only six carries. Boyd got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 56 yards. Keon Cooper also helped with two touchdowns in total.

This is the second loss in a row for Lausanne Collegiate and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.5 points over those games. As for Westview, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Lausanne Collegiate didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 42-17 victory against Evangelical Christian on the 3rd. As for Westview, they have also already played their next game, a 62-6 win against Ripley on the 3rd.
