Softball Game Preview: College Place Hawks vs. Cashmere Bulldogs

The College Place Hawks will challenge the Cashmere Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in College Place's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.

It was a Battle of the Birds when College Place faced off against Connell on Tuesday. College Place blew past Connell 11-0. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Graycelyn Tonn was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Charley Amick was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Tonn wasn't the only one working in the hit department: College Place kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Cashmere didn't have quite enough to beat Chelan on Tuesday and fell 12-11.

College Place pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.8 runs over those games. As for Cashmere, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
