Soccer Game Preview: Roaring Fork vs. Montezuma-Cortez

The Roaring Fork Rams will head out to challenge the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Roaring Fork took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Rifle an 8-0 shutout. Carley Crownhart was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Montezuma-Cortez hasn't lost a match since April 4th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Grand Junction Central as they made off with a 7-0 victory. Montezuma-Cortez found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Camryn Oliver and Mia Glazner were both handed yellow cards.

Montezuma-Cortez is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five contests. As for Roaring Fork, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5-3.
