Softball Recap: Venice Beats Charlotte for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Venice entered their tilt with Charlotte on Tuesday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons 11-1. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by exactly ten runs.

Jayde Neptune tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Raionna Smith was incredible, scoring four runs while going 3-for-4. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Riley Sullivan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Venice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Venice pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Charlotte, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Venice will challenge Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Charlotte, they will square off against Evangelical Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evangelical Christian will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Charlotte surely won't give up without a fight.
