Basketball Game Preview: Oak Grove Eagles vs. Live Oak Acorns

The Oak Grove Eagles will head out to face off against the Live Oak Acorns at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Grove will be strutting in after a win while Live Oak will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Oak Grove turned things around against Mt. Pleasant on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 50-48.

Meanwhile, Live Oak didn't have quite enough to beat Evergreen Valley on Friday and fell 58-56. The defeat continues a trend for the Acorns in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost four in a row.

Oak Grove's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Live Oak, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Everything came up roses for Oak Grove against Live Oak in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, as the squad secured a 74-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oak Grove since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
