Basketball Recap: Clearwater Beats Springstead for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Clearwater extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Keshawn Andrews. The Clearwater Tornadoes enjoyed a cozy 49-34 victory over the Springstead Eagles on Wednesday thanks in part to Andrews, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and five blocks. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Zain Watson, who posted four points. Watson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Springstead's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Sayre, who had 11 points. Another player making a difference was Zion McKenzie, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Clearwater's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Springstead, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-5.

Clearwater will square off against Pinellas Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Clearwater is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.4 points per game this season. As for Springstead, they will take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
