Soccer Recap: St. Mary's Takes a Loss

St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Saguaro Sabercats, falling 4-1. The Knights were probably out for revenge after losing 6-0 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Their goal came courtesy of Paul Villaneuva, which was the first he's scored this season.

St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 4-10-1. As for Saguaro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3-2 record this season.

St. Mary's didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-1 defeat against Arcadia on the 3rd. As for Saguaro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 3-3 draw against Cactus Shadows on the 3rd.
