Preview: Darlington vs. LaFayette
The Darlington Tigers will head out on the road to take on the LaFayette Ramblers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
On Monday, Darlington suffered a rough 4-1 defeat at the hands of Cedartown. Darlington was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.
Meanwhile, LaFayette was the victim of a tough 6-2 defeat at the hands of Trion on Thursday. One reason for the loss might be LaFayette's aggressive play style: Chandler Scott and Elijah Decker were both handed yellow cards.
Kaden Miller wasn't going to let Trion walk away unscathed as he scored both of LaFayette's goals. With that big game, he's now up to two goals this season.
Darlington's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for LaFayette, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Darlington skirted past LaFayette 2-1 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Darlington since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
