Dora came tearing into Saturday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Spring Garden Panthers 10-8. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

The team relied heavily on Grayson Stephenson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Dora is undefeated when Stephenson posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ashton Skalnik, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Dora was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .419 or higher in four consecutive games.

Dora's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.6 runs over those games. As for Spring Garden, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dora will challenge Lynn at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Lynn's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Dora's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Spring Garden, they will square off against Pleasant Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
