Lexington is a perfect 3-0 against River Valley since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Minutemen will face off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Lexington is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.
Lexington gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Clear Fork by a score of 6-2.
Makaree Chapman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Williams, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
Highland typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday River Valley proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Fighting Scots, sneaking past 6-4. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Fighting Scots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Samantha Woods was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Braun, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Lexington pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for River Valley, their record is now 14-4.
Lexington's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Minutemen have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for River Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Lexington continue to outrun the ball?
Everything went Lexington's way against River Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Lexington made off with an 11-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Minutemen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
