George C. Marshall's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Washington-Liberty as they made off with an 11-0 win. The Statesmen have beaten the Generals the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Generals has come to flipping the script.
Helen Kluesener made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over 5.1 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, George C. Marshall let Lindsey Manifor and Mikka Christensen run wild. Manifor got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Christensen went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three stolen bases gave Manifor a new career-high. Taylor Devanney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
George C. Marshall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, McLean strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Washington-Liberty 9-0. Considering the Highlanders have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
McLean pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for George C. Marshall, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
