Volleyball Recap: Sylacauga Aggies vs. Faith Christian Lions

Sylacauga was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Faith Christian Lions. The Aggies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Sylacauga actually scored more points across those three sets (62-58), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Daniel, who had 11 digs, five kills, four aces, and one block. Daniel has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last seven times she's played. Kaylee Norton was another key player, getting 24 assists and seven digs.

Sylacauga's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Faith Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season.

Sylacauga didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Fayetteville on the 2nd. As for Faith Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against Jacksonville Christian Academy at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
