Softball Game Preview: Rio Linda Knights vs. Sutter Huskies

The Rio Linda Knights will face off against the Sutter Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Rio Linda is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Rio Linda played against El Camino on Thursday and won via forfeit.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Sutter turned things around against River Valley on Friday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Falcons.

The team relied heavily on Gabriella Jones, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Paytyn Schamanski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sutter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Rio Linda's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Sutter, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Rio Linda was able to grind out a solid win over Sutter in their previous meeting back in April, winning 6-3. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
