Softball Recap: Colonial Forge Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Colonial Forge dropped their record down to 6-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to the Riverbend Bears. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bears since on Tuesday.

As for Riverbend, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games.

For Riverbend's part, Chloe King made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). King was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Livesay was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Isa Barber, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Looking ahead, Colonial Forge will face off against North Stafford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Riverbend, they will square off against Massaponax at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
