Basketball Game Preview: Mineral Ridge Rams vs. Springfield Tigers

Mineral Ridge is 1-9 against Springfield since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Rams will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Springfield will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Mineral Ridge extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Rams came out on top against Waterloo by a score of 56-45.

Chase Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 26 points. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Blake Basista, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Springfield over McKinley in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Tigers blew the Trojans out of the water with a 68-7 final score. The Tigers have beaten the Trojans the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Trojans has come to flipping the script.

Springfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mineral Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Mineral Ridge skirted past Springfield 50-47 in their previous matchup back in February. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
