Basketball Recap: Webutuck Takes a Loss

Webutuck lost against Mount Academy back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Warriors had to suffer through a 68-40 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Warriors were down 48-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Mount Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dominic Meier led the charge by dropping a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Meier a new career-high in steals (two). Bruce Maendel was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Webutuck and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Webutuck is taking a road trip to square off against Rhinebeck at 5:45 p.m. on the 17th. As for Mount Academy, they will square off against Cooperstown at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
