Softball Game Preview: Strom Thurmond Rebels vs. Mid-Carolina Rebels

Strom Thurmond will square off against Mid-Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

Strom Thurmond easily dispatched Greenwood on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Strom Thurmond fell just short of Chapin by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday.

Addyson Harrison made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Lawsyn Lowe was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Mid-Carolina didn't have quite enough to beat Airport on Thursday and fell 4-2.

Strom Thurmond's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.5 runs. As for Mid-Carolina, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Strom Thurmond was able to grind out a solid victory over Mid-Carolina when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-1. Will Strom Thurmond repeat their success, or does Mid-Carolina have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
