Recap: Clay County Panthers vs. Roane County Raiders
The Clay County Panthers lost against the Roane County Raiders back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Clay County fell 52-42 to the Raiders.
Roane County had a senior duo take command as Hope Mason dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds and Piper Harlan scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Harlan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Tolley, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Clay County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Roane County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clay County will take on the Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Charleston Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday. Roane County's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on February 1st. Hopefully Braxton County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Thursday.
