Volleyball Game Preview: Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles vs. Serra Cavaliers

The Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles will challenge the Serra Cavaliers at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Verbum Dei Jesuit will be strutting in after a victory while Serra will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, Verbum Dei Jesuit made easy work of St. Bernard and carried off a 3-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Serra was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, falling 3-0.

Serra was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 26-24, 25-15.

Verbum Dei Jesuit's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Serra, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Verbum Dei Jesuit took their victory against Serra in their previous meeting last Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
