Basketball Game Preview: Jackson-Olin Mustangs vs. Carver Birmingham Rams

Jackson-Olin hasn't had much luck against Carver Birmingham recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Rams at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-21, which was the final score in Jackson-Olin's tilt against Tuscaloosa County on Monday. The matchup marked the Mustangs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Carver Birmingham might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 73-43 to Bessemer City, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Rams have suffered against the Tigers since December 21, 2018.

Carver Birmingham's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jackson-Olin, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Jackson-Olin couldn't quite get it done against Carver Birmingham in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 as they fell 52-43. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
