It was a good run, but Westlake unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 10-4 to the Calabasas Coyotes. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Warriors, who until this match were averaging 3.33 runs allowed.

Mason Berlinger and Joey Moore stepped up to the plate in a big way. Berlinger went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Moore went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Noa Nakagawa, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Westlake's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-4. As for Calabasas, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Westlake and Calabasas should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings.
