Basketball Recap: Poudre Falls Short of Thunderridge in the Playoffs

Poudre and ThunderRidge squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Poudre had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 37-19 to the ThunderRidge Grizzlies. The game marked the Impalas' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Poudre lost, don't look at Kavi Voglund. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points.

ThunderRidge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elly Daniels led the charge by putting up six points and seven boards. Thanks to that strong game, Daniels now owns an excellent 45.3% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Candace 'Cc' Baker, who had 11 points.

Poudre's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14. As for ThunderRidge, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Poudre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for ThunderRidge, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-36 defeat against Broomfield on the 1st.
