Baseball Recap: Penn Wood Patriots vs. Interboro Buccaneers
Penn Wood extended their losing streak to nine on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 1-9 in the process. They came up short against the Interboro Buccaneers, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 33-0 on April 3rd.
As for Interboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.
For Interboro's part, they got a massive performance out of Tyler Green, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Garry Shropshire, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Coincidentally, Penn Wood and Interboro will both be playing Academy Park the next time they take the field. The Patriots will host the Knights at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Buccaneers will head out to face them at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
