La Joya is 10-0 against Economedes since December of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The La Joya Coyotes will be playing at home against the Economedes Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, La Joya came up short against Edinburg North and fell 39-28. The Coyotes haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

La Joya's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Debany Garza, who posted eight points and three steals, and Calixtra Gandaria, who scored six points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Even though they lost, La Joya smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Economedes challenged Edinburg on Tuesday. Economedes took a blow against Edinburg, falling 60-21. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-10.

Economedes' loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-16. As for La Joya, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-19.

La Joya strolled past Economedes when the teams last played on January 14th by a score of 42-28. Will La Joya repeat their success, or does Economedes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
