Soccer Game Preview: St. James vs. West Florence

The St. James Sharks will challenge the West Florence Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between St. James and North Myrtle Beach, and St. James kept the tradition alive. The Sharks won by a goal and slipped past the Chiefs 2-1.

Meanwhile, West Florence had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Their defense stepped up to hand Myrtle Beach a 6-0 shutout on Friday. West Florence might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by three goals or more this season.

West Florence is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 66 goals over those 11 games. As for St. James, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.

St. James took their victory against West Florence in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Do the Sharks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
