Football Recap: Boonton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hopatcong last Friday, Boonton came back down to earth. The Bombers were outmatched by the Mountain Lakes Lakers and fell 42-14. While losing is never fun, the Bombers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Lakers are ranked 103rd).

Although Boonton took the loss, they still got scores from Jack Allen and Dustin Ackerman.

Having lost for the first time this season, Boonton fell to 3-1. As for Mountain Lakes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boonton will welcome Kinnelon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Colts' defense has only allowed 10.4 points per game this season, so the Bombers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Mountain Lakes, they will host Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
