Softball Recap: Grants Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Grants dropped their record down to 14-10 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 18-6 to the Belen Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-6 on April 10th.

Raeyna Valdez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. Aubrhyanna Garcia was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

As for Belen, they now have a winning record of 13-12. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine games by ten runs or more so far this season.

On Belen's side, they let Honey Mirabal and Araceli Franco run wild. Mirabal went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs, while Franco fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs Franco has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyla Rocha, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Grants does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belen, they are taking a road trip to square off against Valencia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
