Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Miriam Gilbert and Sian Royer Lead Lighthouse Christian Academy to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Shakamak, Lighthouse Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Mooresville Christian Eagles 3-0.

While Lighthouse Christian Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-22.

Leading Lighthouse Christian Academy to victory were Sian Royer and Miriam Gilbert. Royer had 12 digs, while Gilbert had nine digs. Royer has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Despite the loss, Mooresville Christian had strong showings from Iris Hill, who had 13 digs and two aces, and Alli Sterling, who had 19 digs and two aces.

Lighthouse Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Mooresville Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Lighthouse Christian Academy has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Medora on the 27th. As for Mooresville Christian, they will challenge Horizon Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
