Basketball Recap: Geff Haley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Maricopa over Marana + How To Watch

Maricopa was the 58-57 winner over Marana when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams took a hard 79-62 fall against the Tigers on Tuesday. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maricopa's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Geff Haley, who posted 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Neal, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 16 rebounds.

Marana's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Marquez Roebuck led the charge by going 9-for-16 to rack up 30 points along with seven steals and six boards. Those seven steals gave Roebuck a new career-high. Zachary Evenson was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Maricopa's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Marana, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Maricopa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-56 victory against Flowing Wells on the 11th. As for Marana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-47 win against Amphitheater on the 11th.
