Softball Recap: Eastern View Comes Up Short

Eastern View and King George squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Eastern View had to settle for second. They fell 4-1 to the Foxes. The Cyclones haven't had much luck with the Foxes recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Cailin Rendell spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on two hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sara Hopper made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Eastern View's defeat dropped their record down to 17-4. As for King George, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Eastern View nor the Foxes have any future games scheduled.
