The Rouse Raiders will venture away from home to take on the East View Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rouse knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully East View likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Rouse earned a 31-22 victory over Leander. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Rouse relied on the efforts of Anthony Reyes, who rushed for 171 yards and two scores, and London Morgan, who threw for 215 yards and one touchdown. Those 171 rushing yards gave Reyes a new career-high. 92 of Morgan's passing yards were hauled in by Aubryn Davis.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Rouse was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Rouse's defense and their four sacks. Ethan Wallace was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Rouse is 3-1 when Wallace posts one or more sacks, but 1-3 otherwise. The Raiders got some further help from Liam Mongold: he made 16 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, after only eight points in their last contest, East View made sure to put some points up on the board against Chaparral on Friday. The Patriots simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Bobcats 49-0. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Bobcats are ranked 615th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rouse better keep an eye on Jayvion Clater. He was instrumental in East View's win, rushing for 121 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries. Another player making a difference was Cormyc Guerrero, who threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns.
East View's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Rouse, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Rouse has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 296.5 passing yards per game. East View, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 196.4 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
Rouse strolled past East View when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 36-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
