Basketball Game Preview: Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots vs. Northview Knights

Terre Haute North Vigo and Northview are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Terre Haute North Vigo Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Northview Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Terre Haute North Vigo turned things around against West Vigo on Tuesday. They blew past the Vikings 51-29.

Terre Haute North Vigo found their leader in freshman Zanariae White, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for White. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna K Lawson, who posted five points and five boards.

Terre Haute North Vigo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Vigo only pulled down eight offensive boards.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northview). They breezed by West Vigo to the tune of 68-26 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Northview has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Terre Haute North Vigo, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7.

Terre Haute North Vigo was taken down by Northview 63-34 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northview's Brynlee Clarke, who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 12 boards.
