Rio Hondo extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Matthew Lopez. The Bobcats took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-13 victory over the Falfurrias Fightin' Jerseys with plenty of help from Lopez, who threw for 165 yards and five TDs on only ten passes, and also rushed for 64 yards. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 53 yards.

Mario Lopez was another key player, rushing for 104 yards and one score on only ten carries. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his eighth straight game with at least 104 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Rio Hondo's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. Noe Leos refused to say out of the backfield, picking up a sack all by himself. Rio Hondo got some further help from Ty Alaniz: he picked up 0.5 sacks and made 18 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Rio Hondo's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Falfurrias, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Rio Hondo has already played their next matchup, a 59-13 victory against Lyford on the 17th. As for Falfurrias, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 29-14 defeat against Santa Gertrudis Academy on the 17th.
