Softball Recap: Orrick Takes a Loss

Orrick was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 22-1 to the Santa Fe Chiefs. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chiefs this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-0 defeat on Tuesday.

Orrick saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alanah Calvo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Calvo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Elana Boude also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Orrick's loss dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Santa Fe, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10.

Coming up, Orrick will be playing at home against La Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Santa Fe, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-12 win against St. Paul Lutheran on the 2nd.
