Baseball Game Preview: Danbury Lakers vs. Sandusky Blue Streaks

The Danbury Lakers will head out on the road to challenge the Sandusky Blue Streaks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

While Lakers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They blew past Cardinal Stritch 9-0 last Tuesday.

Tyler Harris and Dylan Kenley were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Harris pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kenley tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Harris scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2, while Kenley scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Park Wilhite, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Logan Lucas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Sandusky kicked off their season on Tuesday but they'll have to wait until their next match for a more definitive result. They and Margaretta finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.
