Basketball Recap: Page Drops Season-High Score on Kirtland Central

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Page). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 75-34 win over the Kirtland Central Broncos. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-18.

Leading Page to victory were Tyree Stingley and Joseph Benally. Stingley went 10 for 15 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds, while Benally went 6 of 7 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Stingley's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Maximus Reid was another key player, putting up nine points.

Page smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 offensive boards per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 0.

The victory (which was Page's seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Kirtland Central, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Page will challenge Ganado at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Page is facing Ganado at the right time seeing as Ganado is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Kirtland Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-36 defeat against Piedra Vista on the 15th.
