Football Recap: First Baptist Academy Falls to Evangelical Christian in First Game of Season

First Baptist Academy kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 29-0 defeat at the hands of the Evangelical Christian Sentinels. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Lions couldn't quite close it out.

Evangelical Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyce Harris out in front who rushed for 121 yards and two scores on only 13 carries. Those 121 rushing yards gave Harris a new career-high. Liam Avin was another key pass catcher, picking up 110 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. First Baptist Academy will challenge Northside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Evangelical Christian, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th.
