Basketball Recap: Hershey Comes Up Short

Hershey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 48-40 defeat to South Loup. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while South Loup are ranked 103rd).

Hershey's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for South Loup, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Hershey Panthers duke it out with the Maxwell Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Loup, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Sandhills/Thedford. South Loup is facing Sandhills/Thedford at the right time seeing as Sandhills/Thedford is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
