It was a good run, but Sylmar unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Grant Lancers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered since March 11, 2024.

Sylmar took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-23.

Sylmar's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Grant, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sylmar will welcome Van Nuys at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grant, they will be playing at home against North Hollywood at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Grant is on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), North Hollywood a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
