Softball Recap: Dreher Comes Up Short

Dreher fell victim to York and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Cougars. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Rory McCormack spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Dreher has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for York, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coming up, York will be playing at home against Northwestern at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dreher will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' game: after the Cougars faces off against the Trojans, they'll take on Dreher again at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
