Baseball Recap: Hershey Drops Season-High Score on Central Dauphin East

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hershey). They blew past the Central Dauphin East Panthers 14-1 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the game before.

Sean Callahan made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with seven RBI and two doubles.

In other batting news, Hershey got a massive performance out of Grant Later, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Bryce Erwin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Hershey always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Hershey's record now sits at 8-5. As for Central Dauphin East, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hershey will challenge Elizabethtown at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 3.8, the Bears 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Central Dauphin East, they will take on Bishop McDevitt at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
