Football Game Preview: Newcastle Dogies vs. Burns Broncs + How To Watch

The Newcastle Dogies will take on the Burns Broncs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Burns will be up against a hot Newcastle team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Dogies took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 46-6 win over Moorcroft. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-0.

Newcastle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Teddy Troftgruben out in front who rushed for 69 yards on only seven carries, and also threw for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. Dane Crabtree was Troftgruben's top target, picking up 50 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 47 yards and one TD.

Meanwhile, Burns got themselves on the board against Upton/Sundance on Friday, but Upton/Sundance never followed suit. They blew past the Bobcats 26-0. The result was nothing new for the Broncs, who have now won four contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Burns' win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Newcastle, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Newcastle against Burns in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dogies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
