Softball Game Preview: Southeastern Local Trojans vs. Fairbanks Panthers

The Southeastern Local Trojans will head out to square off against the Fairbanks Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Southeastern Local will be looking to extend their current 17-game winning streak.

If Southeastern Local beats Fairbanks with three runs on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Trojans' pitcher stepped up to hand Triad a 3-0 shutout on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Fairbanks was able to grind out a solid win over West Jefferson on Tuesday, taking the game 5-1.

Macy Kise spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Anna Dulle, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jenna Dee, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Southeastern Local pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Fairbanks, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.

Southeastern Local came out on top in a nail-biter against Fairbanks in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
