After a string of three wins, Southeast Whitfield County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Kell Longhorns by a score of 2-1. If the Raiders were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Longhorns when the teams met back in August of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Abby Towe paced Southeast Whitfield County's offense, picking up six kills. Towe got some help from Briana Fraire Hernandez and her six assists. Emily Vargas controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Rilee Wells was a one-woman wrecking crew For Kell. as she had 16 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Wells has posted since back in August of 2024.
Southeast Whitfield County now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Kell, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.
Southeast Whitfield County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Gordon Central on the 16th. As for Kell, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Pickens on the 16th.
